DAVID DUKE, former Grand Wizard of Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, is 59 now and still at it. Just because you age doesn't make you a better human being. The notorious white supremacist, who once held a seat for Louisiana in the House of Representatives and made a bid for the U.S. Presidency, is in the Czech Republic today. Not for long however. He's been ordered to leave the country, reports the BBC.
DUKE ARRESTED, THEN KICKED OUT
Apparently invited by a local Czech far-right (neo-Nazi) group, Duke had plans to give several lectures and promote his 1998 book My Awakening. Instead he was arrested last night (Friday) and questioned by police. He was suspected of "denying the Holocaust," an offense under Czech law. One day later he's out of jail but ordered to get out of the country. Prague's Charles University said it banned a lecture by Duke, originally invited to lecture to students taking a course on extremism.
The Czech interim prime minister-designate, Jan Fischer, appeared on Czech television to say the opinions expressed in Duke's book were "simply unacceptable, incomprehensible."
DENYING THE HOLOCAUST MEANS JAIL TIME
Declaring that the Holocaust never happened is apparently against the law in most European countries. Call me "unaware," but I didn't know this -- had no idea actually. Blogger Jack McCullough, a Vermont lawyer, says in his blog Rational Resistance, that Duke was imprisoned for "thought crimes," just as Roxana Saberi, the American journalist sentenced to eight years in prison in Iran, on the trumped up charge of espionage. In an interesting discussion, McCullough says Duke is as deserving of being released as Saberi.
Duke was officially questioned for several hours in Prague on "suspicion of promoting movements seeking the suppression of human rights," police said according to the AFP. Duke's book contains passages denying the Holocaust, a crime punishable by up to three years in prison in the Czech Republic.
KKK IS ITSY-BITSY NOW
We all know that the Ku Klux Klan is notorious for terrorizing black Americans through lynchings, cross burnings and other hate crimes -- although at its height there were no laws designating such crimes as "hate crimes." Don't forget that the KKK was at its peak membership in 1925 (with around five million), but since the late 1970s its membership has dwindled to between 3,000 and 6,000, as reported by the AFP.
David Duke keeps popping up periodically, acting-out with his hatred and causing the media to pay attention and give him the publicity he so desperately wants.
A comment on Huffington Post said: "The European laws regarding holocaust denial are very well known. You would have to be an inherently stupid individual to travel to Europe if you were a holocaust denier, especially if you had written a book about it."
Even though I often wish the media did not give hateful extremists the desired publicity for which they go to such extremes to garner, I have to remind myself that I really do want to keep a watch on folks like David Duke, what they are up to and what they are saying. Thank you Jesus -- and Buddha and Allah and all the good guys watching over us -- for a free press and a Constitution that gives us freedom of speech.

The sad thing is so much of what David Duke says is the plain truth when it comes to how every race and ethnic group but White Israelites (those of Anglo-Saxon-Celtic or NW European origin) can feel proud and seek to advance themselves or protect and preserve their heritage. However, when David Duke dismisses Hitler's Burnt Offering of Jews as a myth, rather than exploited or exaggerated by some, he does a great disservice to Israel and Judah who both need to get our House in order before King Messiah arrives.
Those who have self-righteously made "Holocaust denial" a crime (rather than a free and open debate) are simply throwing fuel on the fires of those who speak of disproportionate Jewish influence.
